Big Win for Rottnest Skydive Company at Tourism Awards
Rottnest skydiving operator, Skydive Geronimo, is flying high after scooping gold at the 2021 Perth Airport WA Tourism Awards gala event held on 13 November.
Skydive Geronimo won the gold medal in the Adventure Tourism category and will now represent the state at the Qantas Australian Tourism Awards Gala on the Sunshine Coast in March next year.
Company founder and chief instructor, Glenn Stutt, said the achievement was testament to the team’s passionate commitment to deliver a world-class adventure experience.
“The challenges of the past 20 months have brought the team’s resilience and innovative spirit to the fore and this gold medal at the industry’s premier awards is an extremely proud moment for us all – especially given that we were up against extremely high calibre competition in our category.”
The awards are in their 49th year and acknowledge the state’s leading tourism operators across 27 categories. A record number of first-timers entered this year representing a diverse range of businesses from across Western Australia.
Skydive Geronimo was established by Glenn and his wife Amy over a decade ago with the aim of providing a unique and exciting way of experiencing WA’s most picturesque destinations. They opened their Rottnest skydiving operation in 2016 and have continued to cement their reputation for delivering action, adventure and fun paired with total professionalism and attention to detail.
“We truly hope that 2022 is a better year for the whole world and we can’t wait to showcase WA’s incredible tourism offering and represent our state at the national awards in March next year,” Stutt said.
