Winter often brings crispy, clear conditions that make the views of the island from 10,000ft extremely clear and sharp. It is truly spectacular.
There is a very high chance that you will see whales and dolphins. Yes, that’s right, not only will you have the time of your life in freefall, but before that happens, a beautifully scenic view awaits you, with marine wildlife playing in natures back yard.
Seeing the whole island from above in winter is something special. The clearer air, greener landscapes, bright white beaches and turquoise bays create a contrast that is simply unreal. Rottnest Island really is a sight to behold in the winter months.

Winter is generally a quieter season on Rottnest Island, making it perfect for people wanting a relaxed island adventure.
You will absolutely get a great seat on the ferry, and possibly a beach all to yourself.
There’s no need to wait in line for the bakery. And this is our favourite one, you will most likely miss the strong afternoon winds which makes riding a bike up that big hill to Little Parakeet Bay just that little bit easier.
Thirdly. Cooler temperatures make the adrenaline even better
There’s nothing quite like opening the aircraft door and feeling the cool winter air before an unforgettable freefall. It is true, temperatures can sit around the -16 degree Celsius mark, which honestly adds so much more adrenaline to the skydive experience.
